Out of the mouth of babes.........

The other day the boys and I were in the car listening to the Casting Crown's latest CD. We have been listening to this CD for awhile now, so the boys are pretty familiar with it. Out of the blue Josiah, my 9 year old, says..."Mom, I know what that line in the song means." I asked which line he was referring to. He said the line "It's refreshing to know You don't need me, how amazing to find that You want me." That line is being sung to God, so I was curious what Josiah's take on it would be. This was his understanding of it..........

He said, "It's like when you're playing sports and your team is short one player." He says, "You look around and if you see someone you ask if they will play so you have enough players...you didn't really WANT that person to play necessarily, but you NEEDED them." Then he says, "But then, there are times when you get to pick your team...and that very first person you pick...that's the person you really WANT. It's kinda like that Mom. We are not just someone God needs to fill a spot, we are like... His first pick."
