I'm a Cowboy Baby!
I LOVE having boys!
It is so fun, sweet, and challenging all at the same time. I find the hardest part is me being a girl and learning how to raise a little man. Ya know? You don't want to squash their tender emotions, you want them to be in touch with what they feel, yet without teaching them to be too sensitive and emotional. They are born to be warriors, that is a God-given trait, they don't need much help with that :o). Yet we can help keep them "tender warriors". But, I am not sure I have a clue on how to do that! :o) I guess I am talking more about my 8 year old here, these aren't really big issues with a 1 year old! :o) So, we take it day by day and trust that God didn't make a mistake in choosing us as parents! :) We do what we know, and pray for insight and wisdom on the rest....and just hope they don't send us their therapy bill when they are older!!! JK!
By the way, did you all see Suzy on The Biggest Loser last night? It was weird to see her like that, because she doesn't look anything like that anymore! She did great last night...she lost the most weight out of all the girls!! I think you got a taste of her awesome personality too. It will be so interesting to see how they continue to portray her.
Let's see...anything else??? Oh! I went on a ridealong with my husband last Saturday!! That was SUPER fun. We love that time together, it's just us together in a car for 10 hours, it's great quality time. I mean he does have to respond to a call here and there...but, I had books with me for those times. :o) We had a great time, I even had someone ask me if I was a Detective! Ha! I was thinking that most Detectives don't wear stiletto boots and cute pink jackets with a flower on the lapel? Maybe they do! :o).

Both of your boys are cuties. And the pictures of the cowboy baby is adorable! Is this what I have to look forward to? Lexi is 100% girl. Its all about pink, baby dolls, pretend cell phones, shoes and purses!
I enjoy reading your blog and find it fun to keep up on everyones lives this way.
Tammie
Thank you Tammie! I can't wait to have a little girl one of these days. I adore my boys, but someone in this household needs to wear some pink besides my husband...oops...I mean besides ME!!!! hehe
Jess
I would have loved to see you in the squad car dressed all girly! Very funny to picture!
And it won't be long before John will take over most of Josiah's raising...you're doing your job for now just great. But soon it will be John's turn, and that will be from then until Josiah becomes a man. And I think John will do a great job...from what I can tell, he's no sissy-man (except for the wearing pink...that sure threw me off!). Hmmm.

:-D
Thank you for the encouragement Karen! Nope, John doesn't really wear pink :o). But he didn't mind when we were first married that we had pink bedding! :o) But, they don't mind much when your first married do they? hehehehe :o) Don't worry, we have brown bedding now. I guess he is secure in his manhood! :o)
Oh those pics are adorable!!!
I totally missed The Biggest Loser. It's on NBC right? Due to hurricane Katrina, all of the stations that come from New Orleans have been out. I think NBC is working though. I guss it's obvious we don't watch a lot of TV! LOL!
Jess, that's hilarious. Erik was SO firm when we were first married that we would have NO floral bedding. Not that he wasn't secure in his manliness (he's never had a problem there!), but he just thought it sounded weird to have pink and flowers. (Although I wonder if *I* hadn't brought it up if he would have even noticed, being newly MARRIED and all!)
:-D
So we've had green/navy for years and years until just last year when I got patchwork...and he loves it (although he thinks it's much "busier" than our simple colors from before).
He really thinks that pink is for the girls and I, though!
:-D
I guess our guys don't have much to worry about, do they?
Thank you Melanie. I think it's NBC..it's channel 5 here, I don't think that means anything to you :o). How are you doing with all the effects of Katrina? We have several people from our church down in New Orleans right now just offering support by serving meals, helping people recover their stuff, grief counseling and mainly just being a listening ear. We are sending more down soon.
Karen , that's cute!
What's with all the advertising on your blog Jessica? I mean everytime I go to your cool blog, some advertisement jumps up.
I think it's because I downloaded that minipoll...it's the price you pay to have that on your blog I guess. :)
What a cute little cowboy you've got!
