Things I learned while in Nevada.......

I spent several weeks with Kurt and Mary in Nevada and had a WONDERFUL time. I recently wrote down some of my memories and things I learned and put them in an email for Mary and thought I would share them here as well.............

Things I learned while in Nevada:

- Clothes still get clean when washed on cold

- Malt-o-Meal brand cereals taste just like all the others but cost less

- Making coffee for someone else can be just as rewarding as having someone make it for you

- When it comes to running a household, two hands are WAY better than one

- That "Wipe-Out" is a tv show....and it's pretty funny

- That sushi and tamales actually go well together :-)

- That you can clean an entire bathroom without a single paper towel...who would have thought!? :-)

- That "You are My Sunshine" makes a GREAT rap song, heavy metal song, opera song, jazz song, and even a worship song!!!!

- That sheep never stay in the valley. It is ALWAYS a place of transition to higher elevations.

- That Rascal Flatts is truly a GREAT band with great songs and any self respecting country fan should own their CD's.....all of them :-)

- That I LOVE The Pita Pit and will miss it greatly

- To "drop the jaw bone"

- That coffee pots are sometimes found on the side of the street

- That I provide great interpretation for Mary's jokes, and also explain others jokes to her from time to time :-)

- That sometimes you need to tell people that they are in church....just in case they weren't sure. "This is church".

- That some people call potato bugs "rolley polleys"......weird

- What happens to Bella in the end (I won't spoil it)

- That I am really good at Nerts and I have no idea why (apparently it's NOT my nails though) :-)

- That I LOVE Saturday night church

- That Mary and I are often thinking the exact same thing at the exact same moment.....it's weird

- How to shop at Costco

- That I am "Captain Obvious"

- That I REALLY love veggies and actually could live without meat

- That Mary and I are BOTH afraid of popping balloons....all these years and I never knew that

- That I don't really care for eggplant, especially when squishy

- That Love is Unstoppable

- That everything is SUPER funny in Walmart at 11pm

- That both mountain men and homeless guys can be GREAT worship leaders....just ask Hillsong :-)

- That I have the truly RARE blessing of real lifelong friends....who will stand with me and for me, despite the cost. Friends who truly love without condition. I am so thankful and so blessed.

- That the word of God... and His forgiveness, love, and blood actually apply to ME too. I am so thankful.

- For real Jesus, for real :-)

Judah sat down next to me and I showed him a pic of Sophia and he started singing "I love Sophia, she is so pretty."
Oh and another thing you learned is that I am REALLY good at writing songs.

:-) Gosh, I SO miss you!!!

There are Pita Pit's in WA!!!??? I now have a reason to get up each day again!! :-)

Yes Marcie, I think the drive to Puyallup does sometimes feel just as long as the 15 hour car drive Mary and made to and from Nevada!!! LOL

Yes, some of her green ways did rub off on me....Mary, I washed my floors with vinegar yesterday and I bought that environmentally friendly cleaner at Costco! Love it!

Jen, miss you too!

Another thing I should have added to my "Things learned" list is that "You are My Sunshine" makes a GREAT rap song, heavy metal song, opera song, jazz song, and even a worship song!!!! LOL!!! :-)

Lifelong friends are precious! Isn't it great to have people that are HERE for you, in the good and the bad, in the ups and the downs, you have all lived life together and should definetly treasure the bond that you have together!

Glad you had a good time, sounds like some great memories were had!
