Team Church 2007!
I just wrapped up a couple AWESOME days at the annual Team Church Conference in Tacoma for church pastors and leaders.
This was my 2nd year, and I loved it just as much this year. They bring in some of THE most influential pastors and Christian leaders in the world today. Last year Darlene Zschech and Brian Houston both taught several classes. I can't even describe what I get to be exposed to in those couple days.
You all should go next year!! It's the most powerful conference I have ever been to.
John Maxwell, one of the most influential speakers and authors of our time was one speaker there this year...he was SO good! I think I got like 8 pages of notes from him! He is a TRUE leader in our country and the things he shared were invaluable. He taught on the 5 levels of leadership, and trust me, this guy KNOWS what he's talking about. I learned so much, he was AWESOME.
There was also the pastor of the Dream Center in LA there, he was great, so full of passion. There was a Pastor from Texas who has a church of 15,000! He was a really cool guy!
Then the coolest thing for me was that the Hillsongs United team was there and we got to just hear from their hearts, and have some great Q&A time with them. They were so great, so real, and so authentic and so in love with the Lord and His people. These are men and woman who are really sold out for the purposes of God in their generation, and their passion is tangible. They live and display lives of sacrifice and service and it's so beautiful to see and truly inspiring. They are some of the most humble Christian leaders I have ever heard speak, and yet they minister to thousands night after night. They put high value on character at Hillsongs church and it really showed in these guys. Here are a couple things I will leave with you that they shared that I really liked...........(read them with a lovely Australian accent for full effect)
~Worship is really about being a living sacrifice
~Never let church replace your personal one on one time with Jesus
~Go to the well often, your path to the throne room of God should be well worn
~God wants your availability more then your ability
~Be able to receive instruction and be led by those not as experienced or qualified as you, remember God uses the foolish things
~The presence of God is really quite simple, you just invite Jesus in and He comes
~If your too big to do the small things, your way too small to do the big things
~See the eternal perspective today
~Don't be threatened by those coming up behind you...train, equip and release
~The people of God should come to church Sunday to Sunday to give...not to get.
~Every morning choose to glorify God in whatever situations come at you that day
~God has already given you everything you need in order to do that which he has called you to do. Trust Him, and go.
At this conference today, I was able to really define and articulate my life dream. Growing up, my life dream was always to be a famous singer. I have known for quite awhile now that dream had been replaced with a God given one. I knew I was no longer chasing after singing, music and songs...but that I was chasing after God and God alone. Today I heard a simple statement, that caused my heart to leap and I said "That's it! That is what I want to do with my life!"
My heart and my dream is simply to take church to the world.
I want to take the worship of our God to the world.
I want to take my place in my generation.

Awesome! I'm glad you were able to go and be "fed"!
ok Jess,
Here is your comment so you can feel cool haha. JUST KIDDING! As I said before you are living your dream already. You were the first person to inspire me to check out Real Life by not being pushy, and not putting down other churches, your worship is my favorite part of the service, I know you have touched many lives in a positive way. :) YOU ROCK!
Love,
Jenny
You heard our pastor speak then too! He was after John Maxwell, he told us it is like trying to speak after Mother Theresa!lol Mike Connaway is his name... or Coach Mike as he is called. We thought it was funny. Glad you enjoyed the conference. Em
