I have had a couple of you ask me some of the same questions in regard to my previous post, so here are those answers........ :)

First..the issue of running...how did I work up to it??. I just started by speed walking...and doing hills and stuff. Once I got pretty good at that, I would run a street, walk a street, run a street, walk a street, and so on. I eventually got to running two streets and walking one, running two, walking one, etc. Eventually I was able to run the whole time, even up hills! I run in the gym mostly now because I lost my running partner and the weather got bad. A great thing to do is to find a small marathon and sign up for it several months in advance, then start training for it. When you have a goal and a time line, it's a lot easier. My goal I keep before me right now is simply...SUMMER! Hello!!! :)

Second....What do I eat??
OK...a typical day of eating for me looks something like this....
1. I have a Peanut Butter South Beach Breakfast bar or Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal for Breakfast.
2. About an hour later, I have a nonfat sugar free latte
3. For lunch- I usually eat a South Beach Pizza, some 100% whole wheat crackers, a diet Pepsi :), maybe some lowfat cheese and then I have another South Beach Breakfast Bar for dessert usually :)
4. If I snack throughout the day, it is usually on whole wheat crackers, or low fat cheese, I also LOVE having organic all natural peanut butter and sugar free jelly on a piece of 100% whole wheat toast
5. For dinner, I often have whole wheat pasta with Olive Oil, garlic, Peas, Italian seasonings, pepper and Parmesan Cheese. Or I might have another South Beach Frozen meal. I also LOVE Chicken Caesar Salads with lowfat dressing. Last night I had a half of a tuna sandwich mixed with light mayo, pickles and lettuce and then I ate the rest of the tuna in a bowl mixed with the pickles and mayo...or you can wrap it up in a crisp piece of lettuce. I tend to eat different things then what my family is eating, or I only eat the meat and veggie portion of the meal. I also eat out a lot. I can find something for my diet at ANY restaurant. Of coarse I ALWAYS have dessert..which is either another peanut butter breakfast bar, the toast with PB&J, or some no sugar added ice-cream, or Sugar free pudding...stuff like that. Chips Ahoy also has some 100 calorie snack packs that I like.
Some of you have mentioned your lack of discipline......
As far as the discipline issue...let me tell you, when you start seeing results...the discipline will be SO much easier. Because slipping in to those cute jeans feels 100% better than eating that piece of cake. Trust me. The beginning is hard, but it gets WAY easier. :)
Side Note!! Check out John's latest post on his blog!!!! It's a GREAT story and a funny read!
